- {CONJUNCTION} POWER SEAT SWITCH – Remove and Replace – Front Passenger Side
- Removed seat and found a 2" puddle of water in battery compartment area. Went further to remove carpet and panels to access more of water damage. Found transfer case module sitting in water. Removed and inspected harness, found that since we were dealing with a salt water spill it had corroded and ruined some pins. Harness repair will be needed. Looked at the other module that could have been splashed by water (front SAM control unit) which controls window operation as well as other tasks. Found water dripping out of module and one connector corroded and damaged by salt water. Recommend replace both modules due to high cost and intense labor we are attempting to find pins to repair the connectors as opposed to replacing the main harness.
- Re-Install New Modules and Re-install Carpet and Seat
- Repair Harness Connector for Module {repair time estimated-billed at clock time}
- After module replacement, windows in rear did not operate. Checked power and ground at both left and right window motors. Tested ohm of motors and no continuity was found making these motors bad. Suspecting motor failure due to the water shorting out window relays in SAM control module causing constant power sent to motors in the down position (windows were down when vehicle arrived). This would explain why the battery was dead upon arrival, if the windows were shorting out overnight.
- POWER DOOR WINDOW MOTOR – Remove and Replace – Rear,Door
