Smoke test also ruled out issues with leak detection pump and purge solenoid. – Coolant level was a little low with no signs of leaks at this time, top off as needed – Air filter dirty and old, foam component turning to dust –

2012 BMW 650xi
Mileage55,498Service Date7/9/2024Services Performed- – Burning smell: tech noted a smell from catalytic converters not breaking down the hydrogen sulfate as well as they used to (a bit of a rotten egg smell). There is also some smoke on a wide open throttle once in a while, which is likely due to the turbos seeping oil internally and burning. Neither of these are immediate issues, or throwing error codes as of this time. – Tech did find a coolant line from left cylinder head to upper radiator hose leaking. Recommend replace. – The fan noise is from the blower motor. Recommend replace. –
- – Access to coolant line ultimately required alternator removal. There was no book/flat rate time for the removal of this line, final time was a bit higher than original estimate. –

- – Tech replaced blower motor inlet screen, the original had disintegrated –
